The Thankful Meme is a very simple meme. Every Thursday (or whatever day of the week works best for you), post a list of things you’re thankful for. If you sign up, you’ll get a reminder email on Thursdays. You can post to your own blog (please include a link back here: http://wonderment.jeremiahone.net/thankful-meme/ or you can post your list in the comments for current week.
If you want to post a link to this meme, please use the link above. You can use any of the buttons below if you’re so inclined.
I started this meme as a way to intentionally remember that there are always things to be thankful for. Even if it’s just one small thing, like someone holding the door for me, or a pair of clean socks. Whatever is going on in life, there is always good in it. I am often guilty of ignoring the good and being overwhelmed by the bad, and this is my attempt to change that. Baby steps.
I know there’s a similar meme out there, Thankful Thursdays, which was started long before this one was. However, in taking a brief look at it and who participates, it was clear to me that the focus of this meme was slightly different. I’m a person of faith myself, but I didn’t want this meme to be focused on that. Anyone can be thankful for anything, in my opinion. The things we’re thankful for don’t have to be flowery or even pretty, don’t have to have a spiritual tint to them, and don’t even have to make sense to anyone but you.
I invite you to join me each week and bring a bit of cheer to a small corner of the internet.
