Linkfest: Cookies

You remember my love of making cookies, right? During the holidays, I was receiving several cookie recipes a day in my email box, which only added to the stash I had bookmarked from Tastespotting and the rest of the interent.

  • Famous Football Cookies [link removed] (The Food Channel) – having a Super Bowl party?
  • Shortbread Cookies [link removed] (Nila Rosa) – originally bookmarked because the fall leaf-decorated cookies were so pretty, but the recipe can easily be adapted to any season or event.
  • Reindeer Gingersnaps [link removed](MyRecipes) – are your kids asking when the reindeer are coming back? Make your own!
  • Dorie’s Linzer Sables [link removed] (Ezra Pound Cake) – I think this is the one that sparked the idea in my mind to make snowmen-shaped cookies.
  • Gingerbread Cut-Out Cookies [link removed] (Under the High Chair) – I do not have a good gingerbread recipe yet. Maybe this one will fit the bill.
  • Tutorial: Cookie Decorating with Glace Icing [link removed] (Our Best Bites) – pretty pictures and good advice.
  • Meringue Snowflakes [link removed] (Better Homes & Gardens) – so pretty, and I love meringues! I think I’d have to print out a picture so I knew how to make them look so good.
  • Chocolate Chip Meringues [link removed](My Recipes) – a simple variation on meringues.
  • Samoas Girl Scout Cookie Clone [link removed] (Once Upon a Plate) – how I love these. It’s not Girl Scout cookie season yet, so make your own!
  • Chocolate-Dipped Oreos [link removed] (SugarEd Lagniappe) – I wouldn’t have thought it would be so easy.
  • Smores Bar [link removed] (Hey, that tastes good!) – wish you could go camping but it’s well below zero out? Make this treat at home instead.
  • Still on my quest to make chocolate crackle cookies like the Norwegian bakery, here are the multitude (OK, only 3, but that’s a lot of batches of cookies to find the right one) of recipes I’ve found so far:
    • @Montcarte  [link removed]
    • @What Geeks Eat [link removed]
    • @Martha Stewart [link removed]
  • Mocha-Chocolate Shortbread [link removed](My Recipes) – shortbread is great, though I may have to make these without the instant coffee bit, or buy some decaf instant (though that stuff is nasty).
  • Mocha Toffee Bars [link removed] (Sass and Veracity) – mocha might be what I miss most about having given up caffeine.
  • Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies [link removed] (Today Was Fun) – maybe these will help reduce my mocha craving.
  • Orange-Spice Madelines [link removed](My Recipes) – not that I need more baking pans in my house, but if I were to get one, a madeline pan is right up there on the list (perhaps I should find some store-made ones to try first?).
  • Lemon Drop Cookies [link removed] (oh fransson) – can I pretend these might be healthier than lemon bars?
  • Pecan Squares [link removed](My Recipes) – I love pecans. ‘Nuff said.
  • Pecan Sandies [link removed] (Smitten Kitchen) – OK, this looks like a whole lot of work, but if they can really all be made up and then frozen, and then baked in small batches when needed, it might be worth the afternoon in the kitchen.
  • Chai-Spiced Cookies [link removed] (The Kitchn) – I also love chai.
  • Cinnamon Bun Cookies [link removed] (No Fear Entertaining) – breakfast in the form of a cookie.
  • Rum-Eggnog Thumbprint Cookies [link removed] (Eating, Etc) – probably more work than I’m willing to go to, but sounds yummy.
  • Frosted Vanilla Cookies [link removed] (oh fransson) – these seem simple yet tasty.
  • Peppermint Bonbon Cookies [link removed] (My Recipes) – while the holiday  mood still strikes you, go for peppermint one last time.
