Linkfest: Sweet Ways to End a Meal

I’ll hide this post of desert items on the weekend, so that you don’t fall off the wagon if you’re trying to be healthier in the new year. If you’re not, or if you occasionally splurge, here are some great ways to satisfy a sweet tooth.

  • Fresh Strawberry Pavlova [link removed] (NYAM) – if you’re lucky enough to be able to get quality fresh strawberries right now, then by all means go out and make this. If you’re not, save it for Valentine’s Day (when there’s a special batch of strawberries in the stores), or the summer. Did you drool after looking at the picture too?
  • Chocolate Pavlova [link removed] (My Feasts) – seems that pavlovas were popular there for a bit.
  • Frozen Banana and Peanut Butter Cheesecake [link removed] (BBC’s Good Food) – I know of at least a few people who would really like this.
  • Peanut Butter Crumbles [link removed] (patticake) – known as “bars” around this part of the woods, these would be great at a party or to bring in to work, if you’re the type that does that.
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cake [link removed] (Baking Delights) – rich, moist, all sorts of words that should describe cake can be attributed to this desert.
  • Individual Chocolate Lava Cakes [link removed] (Ghirardelli) – if you can’t trust Ghirardelli with this recipe, then who can you trust?
  • Milk Chocolate and Salted Caramel Tart [link removed] (Baking Obsession) – whoa.
  • Dark Chocolate Tart with Gingersnap Crust [link removed] (Smitten Kitchen) – I always appreciate a pie-like desert that doesn’t involve pie crust, since ERIC detests it, and chocolate is always good. Plus, I love gingersnaps.
  • Peppermint Cookies N Cream Brownies [link removed] (Baking Bites) – I’m not sure about the peppermint, but the rest seems like an amazing idea.
  • Pumpkin Crumb Cakes [link removed] (The Kitchn) – missing pumpkin pie? How about this twist on pumpkin for desert.
  • Mini Pumpkin Loaves with Creamy Meyer Lemon Filling [link removed] (The LoveBite) – twinkies, all grown up.
  • Moist Yellow Cake [link removed] (Bakerella) – every once in a while, cake just sounds good.
  • Walnut Tartlets [link removed] (Smitten Kitchen) – I have a feeling I would be eating these all alone, or bringing them in to work, but they still sound like a good idea.
  • Homemade Toasted Coconut Marshmallows ( – have you jumped on the homemade marshmallow wagon yet? Yeah, me neither, but I’d like to. Adding toasted coconut just takes this up a notch.
