As if it wasn’t bad enough that my pants are tight because I have a tiny bit of extra weight around my middle, I now have the added problem of an extra few layers of clothing squeezed in there too. It’s long underwear season, which for me means pants (my best pair are REI, but they have a ridiculously high waistband that I have to fold down about three times) and then a tank top or some other shirt under my sweater, tucked into my pants. Boo on that, says the button on my khakis. Not really, but I did expect protesting.
I decided to try the National Body Challenge from Discovery Health in the new year. I wanted to do something after the holidays (it’s just not worth it to try and start now), and then I read about the NBC and thought I’d give it a shot.
said he’d do it with me, bless his heart, even though he has absolutely no need to lose weight, because we eat dinner together and it’ll be much easier (for me) if we attempt this together. Details are still sketchy since they haven’t launched the program, but it is being put on by a reputable organization, so I’ll give it a shot. Plus, they emphasize healthy lifestyle changes, not dieting, so that’s good.
