Monday Madness
- Do you do your own laundry or do you send it out? I do my own. I sent mine out… once, or rather I dropped it off at the laundromat. It was totally worth it that one time, but only because there was so much and I was so busy. I actually don’t mind doing laundry (just the hassle that it’s been in my last few places to live, having to go down into the basement, etc).
- Do you laundry at your home or a laundromat? At home, in our ghetto basement. A couple times the dryer has been broken and I’ve resorted to air-drying, and once the washer was broken for such a long time that I brought my laundry to
’s house.
- Are there certain articles of clothing that you need to have dry-cleaned on a regular basis? I have a few dry-clean-only items, but I don’t take them in very often. They’re pants. How dirty do they get? More of a hassle are the hand washables that do need to be washed often.
- How often do you do laundry? Is there a certain day of the week that you consider “laundry day?” Nope. I do my laundry when I need to or when I have the time to. Sometimes it’s because I’ve run out of khakis or whatever, but usually it’s just “time.”
- Do you iron your clothes as you pull them out of the dryer or do you wait until just before you wear the clothing to iron? I’ve done both. Right now, I don’t have very many clothes that need to be ironed, so it’s on an as-needed basis. I prefer to iron right out of the dryer, since it’s rare that I would have enough time in the morning to iron before getting dressed.
- Do you hang your clothes outside to dry or do you dry them in a dryer? Dryer. Unless the dryer is broke, or it’s really nice outside, or… yeah.
dried our clothes on the line whenever possible, and I really don’t like the stiff feeling that line-dried clothes have. Sad.
- Do you own things that need to be hand-washed or do you try to avoid buying things that you can’t wash in the washing machine? No, I have hand-washables. I wish I didn’t, but it’s been harder to avoid lately.
